Jack is out, Carl is in
And McDonalds, Wendy's, In'nOut and Burger King weren't even in the running.
McDonalds is blah, Wendy's are always too greasy, In'nOut isn't as good as I remember it being in Southern California, and Burger King was simply further than I wanted to travel. Carl's Jr. was just as far as Burger King, although I really do like their food.
Seriously, I had a hankering for a cheeseburger. I went through the usual dilemma of deciding where to go get one. After determining that I didn't want to go all that far, the nearest and previously acceptable joint was Jack in the Box. Bad choice.
I just had a hamburger. It was supposed to be a cheese burger, but they forgot the cheese. Even without the cheese the burger wasn't all that good. It simply was not a tasty burger. The fries were average, the soft drink excellent (Dr. Pepper).
Food aside, what was most irritating about going to Jack in the Box was the rudeness of the employees. While I waited for my food to be prepared, the 3 female employees chatted amongst themselves. Not one word was spoken in English and that is just plain rude! I really don't care what they do when they have no customers, but when even one customer is present they ought to be required to speak only in English or keep their mouths shut. I will be writing the corporate headquarters about this. How do I know that they weren't talking about me? How do I know that they weren't talking terrorist talk?
I won't be going back to Jack in the Box. It no longer exists in my realm.

That's the problem with SOME Jack N The Barf's is that you really have to check your order before you leave, and even if they put cheese on it getting it melted can be the next problem. Just like any place some Jacks are much better and others just suck.
However, you must forget WE'RE the aliens in California as it was originally Spanish occupied and it's kind of hard to complain about the people that occupied first speaking their tongue in their homeland we conquered.
Heck, my local K-Mart is like a trip to Mexico City, you get used to it.

I've heard this rumor that K-Mart still exists before - guess I now believe it. They closed shop here in Northern Nevada several years ago.
We didn't used to have the problems that California has here until we started getting too many Californians moving here. Some are quite welcome here, but most are not since they keep trying to make Nevada be like California. We value our freedom very highly here - and that is something that most Californians have forgotten what it's like to have.
