It's been a long, long time

Much too long. I've been busy, there are some things that must get done no matter what else is on my plate: gardening, reading books, building and rebuilding sites and work. And sleeping way too much. But mostly I was just spinning my wheels trying to deal with a schedule that is abnormal for me: day shift. Fortunately, that horrid shift is behind me now.

My work schedule has recently changed back to graveyard. During the months of day shift it was all I could do to just grab dinner after I got home and later fix my lunch for the next day. I got little else done other than the daily humdrum of watering the garden, laundry, personal care and reading a couple of forums. Day shift just about killed me. I had to get up in the wee hours of the morning just to be awake enough to drive at 7:30 am. I am not a day person and I do not perform at my best during the daylight hours. I find it hard to think when my body says its nap time. I think, no I'm certain that it stems from having begun my life late at night. I came into this world with enough time to eat breakfast and get ready for the graveyard shift. Trouble was my parents weren't night owls. Not much of my world was in those days. But enough about my shift.

The Icy Owl has been rebuilt and it's back to using NetObjects Fusion. I've got a lot of ideas once again for the site, some that can keep me busy for a long time doing things that I enjoy. And by no longer using a CMS, I can once again enjoy the pleasure of adding to the site. There's nothing wrong with using a CMS if the volume of pages required needs a database to easily manage them, but it just doesn't have that special "something" that gives you that good feeling of a job well done.

I'll be back soon, real soon. Here's a parting shot of my Danny and a recent barbecue:
